Lot description
This is the complete set of 6 multiples hand SIGNED, numbered & dated by the artist Allan McCollum; titled: "Visible Markers. Thanks"; the word THANKS is imprinted across the front of each multiple; the ingots are made of polymerized pigmented concrete in the shape of bricks with smooth and rounded edges; published Nov. 1997; there are 6 different colors: "brick red, chocolate brown, coal black, stone grey, lemon yellow, lime green"; size of each: 2 x 8 x 2-1/2 inches; the multiple is listed as an unlimited edition (now SOLD OUT) but the artist has numbered, signed, and dated each individually on verso in black felt pen on the grey felt; in original shipping box; in EXCELLENT COND.

Allan McCollum is a contemporary American artist who lived and worked in his converted parking garage studio in Venice Beach from 1970 to 1975, and exhibited regularly in Los Angeles at the Nicholas Wilder Gallery at that time.
He has been recently featured in several museum exhibitions, including the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York, in the exhibitions 'Twentieth Century American Sculpture', at the White House in Washington, DC; 'Museum as Muse' and 'Objects of Desire: The Modern Still Life' at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and in Paris at the Pompidou Center's 'L'Informe: Mode d'Emploi'.
