Lot description
Eisenstaedt is known for his work for LIFE Magazine, which he joined as one of the first four staff photographers in 1935. In addition to photographing Paris street scenes, he photographed important celebrities such as John F. Kennedy, Albert Einstein, Winston Churchill, and of course Marilyn Monroe. He also focused on ballerinas of the time, shooting the dancers of the American School of Ballet in New York, seen here in this image, and the Paris Opera Ballet.
