Lot description
This work was generously donated by the artist and Feature Inc. to the Children's Cancer & Blood Foundation (CCBF). Proceeds from this sale benefit the CCBF, which supports the Division of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology at New York-Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell Medical Center.

Born in Cuba in 1948, Abelardo Morell and his family fled the country in 1962 for New York City. Morell is well known for his camera obscura images, one of the earliest forms of photography. He photographs at locations around the world and blends contemporary ideas with a vintage process for his distinctive work. Renowned for "The Loveliest Garden You Ever Saw", this body of work was based on Alice in Wonderland and allowed Morell to bring his own aesthetic to a classic fairy tale. Abelardo Morell lives and works in Boston, MA and is currently a Professor of Photography at Massachusetts College or Art and Design.
