Lot description
Magnificent and huge picture. Newly mounted on di-bond and framed in modern contemporary black hardwood frame with spacers. Simply spectacular presentation. The edition is sold out in all sizes, and this is the largest and most sought-after size in the original silver print edition instead of the later pigment ink digital edition. Size refers to the image area and not the overall framed size.

Born in Cuba in 1948, Abelardo Morell and his family fled the country in 1962 for New York City. Morell is well known for his camera obscura images, one of the earliest forms of photography. He photographs around the world and uses contemporary ideas with a vintage process. "The Loveliest Garden You Ever Saw" is from a body of work based on Alice in Wonderland. With these images Morell brings his own aesthetic to a classic fairy tale. Abelardo Morell lives and works in Boston, MA and is currently a Professor of Photography at Massachusetts College or Art and Design.
