With Sandy, Longo continues exploring the themes of Men in the Cities. In his trademark black and white style, Longo has depicted a business woman dancing against a blank background.

Born and raised in New York, Robert Longo had a fascination with mass media, which would continue to influence his art. Longo became famous in the 1980s for his "Men in the Cities" series, which illustrated businessmen (and women) in fluid movements.
