Lot description
Moses began his long career as a photographer at 1943, when he began training as an assistant to the Silesian photographer Grete Bodlée. In the spring of 1944 Moses was sent to the Ostlinde labor camp, from which he escaped a year later.

The subjects of his portraits are from academic and cultural circles: philosophers, writers, artists, academics, and actors – representing the great figures of each profession. Alongside he presents the everyday man, tram conductors, and street cleaners. This visual dialogue allows us a view of the social situation of people who secure a living by the work of their bare hands, reflecting back on the role of the photographer himself.
