Seller's Description:
Shepard Fairey's Peace Bomber produced in a limited edition of 150 signed and numbered copies released in 2008. This work is in new condition, and extremely rare. After his record price at the most recent contemporary Sotheby's sale Fairey has sanctified his role in the art market as a highly desired and sought after member.

After the Obama Progress and Hope images that became synonymous with his super optimistic campaign Shepard Fairey is visible worldwide. He is seen as more of a godfather to the movement than an artist these days, very much like an American version of the UK's Banksy.

He has become a front runner in the street art environment and given a voice to American graffiti art, encapsulating a new chapter for the movement. Demonstrating a playful yet powerful approach to the world of politics reflecting their flaws and strengths in an publicly accessible street forum. The Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston call him one of today's best known and most influential street artists. He is one of the most recognizable artist working today and an idol for a massive cultural progression.

Fairey attended the Rhode Island Institute of Design where in the early 90's he created his iconic "OBEY" character, an ominous face that finds its origins in the appropriated Andre the Giant. In this works center the famous face can be seen framed by a star in the heart of the fighter jet.
