Edouard Boubat (1923 – 1999) is known for his documentary work and lifelong focus on the city of Paris. Originally born in Montmartre, and educated as a graphic artist, Boubat went on to find the photographic medium and venture into documentary photography. The artist worked for Réalité magazine during the 1950’s and 1960’s. Boubat is noted to have said "I think that the photos that we like were made when the photographer knew how to disappear. If there were a secret, certainly that would be it." Boubat won the Kodak prize in 1947.
