Chuck Connelly is a New York based artist who rose to fame in the early 1980s with Julian Schnabel and Jean-Michel Basquiat. Martin Scorsese later made a movie loosely based on Connelly.
This work is a framed oil painting from Chuck Connelly's recent animal series. Here he paints Zebras that may be fighting, or perhaps, engaged in a more amorous affair.
The work is nicely framed and is signed and dated on verso.
