Seller's Description:
Mod_Contemp
Three concentric circles of velvety and monochromatic dry pigment emanate in bull’s eye formation from within a gessoed brace in ANISH KAPOOR’s saffron-colored ‘Orange Circle’. KAPOOR characteristically uses bright and monochromatic color—often with powdered pigments that ‘dust’ the floor with a halo—to define simple and basic curved and often biomorphic forms to express an evocative and mysterious content.
In 2008, the artist’s work was exhibited in a mid-career retrospective at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston; currently he is exhibiting a new site-specific sculpture, "Memory," installed at the Guggenheim Museum, New York, through March 2010.
