Seller's Description:
Mod_Contemp
A deconstructed narrative in an ordered grid of pictographic images by ADOLPH GOTTLIEB. Gottlieb is recognized as one of the most influential artists of the 20th century. While he is perhaps best known for his "burst" abstractions, his early pictographic works are rare and highly sought after. Untitled is among the artist's most accomplished works from this period.
NOTE:According to the Gottlieb Foundation, the artist wrote the word "Chocolate" on the verso to indicate his preferred color of mat, not to indicate a title.
Adolph Gottlieb was part of the American Abstract Expressionist group based in New York.
