Seller's Description:
Mod_Contemp
This large (almost 4 x 2½ feet) still life on canvas by MARCEL MOULY glows with the presence of a stained glass window, with neo-Fauvist—cum—psychedelic-colored, synthetic cubism; bottles and a jar sit on a table in an interior before a portrait of a lady in a frame, painted with fresh and fluid gesture.
MOULY was influenced by Léger , Braque, Matisse, and Picasso, yet found his cubist mentorship with the sculptor, Jacques Lipchitz.
Framed in a contemporary black frame.
