Condition: This work is in excellent condition with bright, vibrant colors.
Composed of thick, bold black forms contrasted against bright reds, yellows, greens, and blues, this piece appears as if watching the viewer. Multiple colored eyes peek out amidst the darkness, relaying the sensation that the observer is also the observed. Miró actively engages the viewer, encouraging him or her to constantly find new form and meaning within the composition. The black figure at the center appears as a thick, tangled net with colorful contents trapped within. Miró sets this figure against a playful background that is speckled in black and dotted with varied colors, creating a piece full of animation and liveliness.
Created in 1976, this color lithograph is hand-signed in the upper right in pencil by Joan Miró (Barcelona, 1893 - Palma, 1983).
