A rare 18th century Chinese export lacquer box of large scale, every surface decorated with raised work in gold on a black background depicting landscapes with temples and water gardens, with original handles and escutcheon plate, the interior opening to reveal a fitted display for cutlery, resting on four raised, stylised ball and claw feet.
