By 1952, Braque had completely mastered the art of colour lithography, but it was with Aldo Crommelynck that he was to discover the even greater potential of colour and form in etching. Lessons previously learnt have been reapplied, but in an apparently more fluent and decisive fashion. The intensification of color through the borders is present again, but they have now become an integral part of the image. It is the images which remain with us. Braque's aestheic aims throughout his paintings centered around the perfect fusion of form and colour.
