DESCRIPTION:
|
One of the greatest printmakers of all time, Goya's talent is matched only by Dürer and Rembrandt. Los Proverbios, his last major printmaking project, is considered his best for the virtuosity in engraving, his control of tonalities and his use of aquatint and drypoint. This print is from the third edition of 100 copies only, published in March 1891 for the Real Academia. Printed on strong, laid paper using black and sepia inks. Dimensions shown are plate sizes.
