A Pair of Carved Plaster Lamps by James Mont, New York, circa 1940s. A grand pair of carved and cast plaster lamps in silver and bronze metal leaf by James Mont. Featuring a variety of carved and silver leafed animals in relief around a beautiful octagon "ancient" torchère lamp frame all in textured and carved/cast plaster. The animals include a large salamander climbing up each lamp and a menagerie of animals around the base of the lamp. In mint restored condition with off-white silk half-drum shades.Each rewired for current standards but with all original milk-glass inserts and hardware, new gold silk cords. The best of James Mont design.
