DESCRIPTION:
|
Lionello Venturi in his catalogue raisonnee writes about this painting, Volume I page 10 A new research appears in his style from 1861. Three views of Montmartre (N ° 16, 17, 22) painted in 1861 shows the contrasts of light and shadow, contours broken and nervous , it no longer belongs to the tradition of Corot.
This painting represents a break in the classic style of Camille Pissarro and opens the period of the Impressionist artist even before his young friend, Claude Monet
