The verso of this painting showed a painting of Benton’s son, “TP” at the age of one year old (which had been painted on the board to which to subject painting was attached). The paintings have been separated. It would appear that these two works were possibly used as the inspiration for Benton’s painting of his wife and son (1928), “Rita and TP” oil on panel shown in Adams at page 146/8
