While nearly all of Zanine's pieces from this period comprised unique forms that found a specific place in a specific home, often he repeated design elements in these commissions. We come across benches and sofas that repeat certain elements over again. It is wonderful to encounter this particular bench, that distinguishes itself from many other similar such seating by it's elegantly carved floating back, that could easily be detached and mounted on a wall as a sculptural work on it's own, were it not obliged to serve as the finished touch to a spectacular work of art that even bears his own signature no less than four times. Even Zanine himself sensed he had created something spectacular with this bench, and was not too modest to hide this fact.
Seat Depth: 21"
Condition: Fine original condition. This sofa is comprised of four separate pieces that fit together. There is much natural cracking and an asymmetrical misshapen that he Zanine has left intact.
