Arman is best known for his work with accumulations of everyday objects and
deconstructions of the greatest art history classics. The artist offers a new perspective on
the Venus de Milo which he calls “Tranchlucide”. The grace and beauty of this work has
inspired the greatest artists such as Dali or Magritte.
“Tranchlucide” is the final work by Arman for Daum on the Venus theme and concludes
the trilogy of rare limited to 8 piece editions that was launched with “Naissance” and
“l’Âme de Vénus”.
This exceptional piece of work in black crystal and solid silver produced in a limited
edition of 8 pieces required more than 100 hours of meticulous entirely manual work by
the master glassmakers at Daum. It combines an audacious “quasi black” crystal with
purple-violet highlights together with more than 10 kilograms of solid silver.
It is, of course, numbered from 1 to 8 pieces with a certificate of authenticity attesting to its
origin.
