DESCRIPTION:
|
One of several studies commissioned by Zika Ascher in 1944 (and printed in 1946) for a design to be used on a silk scarf. They were hand printed at the Ascher’s own printworks with the artist and the printers working in close collaboration. Together Moore and Ascher selected suitable deisigns from a sketchbook set aside for this purpose. (See Ascher by Valerie Mendes and Frances Hinchcliffe, Victoria and Albert Museum, 1987)
