DESCRIPTION:

Thus what is beautiful in the Beautiful World is, most importantly, the essence of the visible made explicit through the play of the cutting of the curtain. Magritte said "I was seeing the world like a curtain in front of me". It is hardly possible to see it otherwise. Seeing always hides another seeing. This game of hide and seek is in truth only one effect of the essence of the visible in retreat from every appearance. Let us examine closely this movement. We will see the apple completely differently. Maybe we will see it in all its simplicity detached at the bottom of the painting. Perhaps we could see it knowling that: "the invisible is not hidden from sight"
