pencil by the artist, 5/4. Printed in blue ink on Velin paper.
Trial proof for the portfolio, /Merz Mappe/, the first portfolio by the
/Merz /publisher Kurt Schwitters. The complete /Merz Mappe 3 /portfolio
of 6 lithographs was published in an edition of 50 examples at the
/Mertz - Verlag /in Hanover in 1923. Complete portfolios and individual
lithographs from this publication are extremely rare today. Most of the
edition was either lost or destroyed, due to its lack of popularity and
minimal sales at that time.
