In my work I explore the lack of harmony between human beings and nature and our inability to become one with the natural world. My sculptures and paintings exemplify the tension between beauty and disease, intimacy and distance, innocence and knowledge.
Since 5 years I work on THE SILENT CHILDREN SERIES, where I take children images out of medical books, remove them from time history and any social environment to place them in a diaphanous, dreamy world to let them play in mysterious dramas.
The children I express are healed through an intimate and mystical connection to nature.
My wish is to create pieces that are sensitive, magic and touching, forcing us to ask questions of our identity and the way in which we experience ourselves in the world.
For some time I am fascinated by several cases of Feral Children who grew up only with the companionship of animals or as confined children who lived with no or little contact to other human beings, or social civilization.
They keep our fascination because they function as a transmitter between the human and the natural world. They are full of wonder, mystery, sensibility for senses we already lost and may hold answers how we see ourselves and our boundary to nature.
