Philippe Hiquily Biography
1925   Born in Montmartre
1950   Debuted as a sculptor, working mostly in iron, sheet iron (tole), brass and aluminum
1948 - 1953   Studyied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris (frequented the ateliers of sculptors Jean Tinguely and Germain Richier from whom he received his foundation in understanding sculpture)
1955   Exhibited for the first time at the Palmes Gallery in Paris, followed by a show at the gallery Contemporaries in New York where he encountered major art world individuals such as Leo Castelli, Robert Rauchenberg, James Rosenquist, Jasper Johns and Isamu Noguchi among others
1959   Won the Prize of the Critics at the Paris Biennale
1960   Began creating furniture that was dream-like and surrealist in spirit
1980   Work in bronze commenced
1986   First show at the gallery Patrice Trigano in Paris
2013   Died in Villejuif, France at the age of 88
