First solo exhibition at The McRoberts and Tunnard Gallery, London. This was soon followed by a major exhibition at the Howard Wise Gallery, New York. Along with Bridget Riley his work passed through a monochromatic period followed by an increasing interest and experimentation with a controlled chromatic scale.

Founded a co-operative of Associated Technicians, concerned with design and construction
