Matthew McCaslin  (American, 1957) 

Matthew McCaslin (American, b.1957) is a Contemporary artist who works in a wide range of media, including film, photography, painting, installation art, and sculpture. Much of McCaslin’s art addresses contemporary society’s dependence on technology. Common materials used in his mixed media installations include light bulbs, fans, TV monitors, cables, and plugs. McCaslin received his BFA from Parsons School of Design in 1980. His work is represented in the collections of the Museum of Contemporary Art Los Angeles, the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, the Museum Ludwig in Cologne, Germany, the Jewish Museum in New York, and the Museum of Modern Art in Saint Etienne, France. He lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
