Bought his first camera.
Won a weekly photography contest in the Philadelphia Evening Public Ledger, which convinced him to pursue photography as a career.

Attended Philadelphia’s School of Commercial Art and Lettering.

1948 |
|
Embarked on a career as a fashion photographer, after publishing his first fashion photo in an issue of Junior Bazaar.

1959 |
|
First solo show was held at Helen Gee’s Limelight Gallery in New York City.
|
|
1960 |
|
Worked as a movie stills photographer in Hollywood.
|
|
1969 - 1974 |
|
Lived and worked abroad, mostly in Paris.

Returned to the United States permanently.

Awarded National Endowment for the Arts grant.
