1882   Studied in the Imperial Academy of Fine Arts
1883   Won a Small Silver Medal and a Dolgorukov scholarship for his drawings
1885   Met famous Russian art patron S.I.Mamontov and joined his circle
1875 - 1886   Student of A.Savrasov and V.Polenov in the Moscow Art, Sculpture and Architecture School
1896   Decorated the pavillion for the International Exhibition in Nizhny Novgorod
1900   Decorated the pavillion for the International Exhibition in Paris
1901   Opened a portrait and genre class in the Moscow Moscow Art, Sculpture and Architecture School
1901 - 1903   Participated in the exhibitions of the "36 artists"
1905   Received the title of the Academician
1900 - 1910   Worked as decorator and stage designer for the first-rate theatres in Moscow and St.Petersburg
1910 - 1920   Several trips to France
1921 - 1922   Personal exhibitions in Russia
1903 - 1923   One of the founders of the Russian Union of Artists and a regular participans of Union exhibitions
1923   Emigrated to Paris
