Karsten Konrad  (German, 1962)

whitespace
Karsten Konrad (German, b.1962) is a highly innovative architectural artist. He often creates his work by using a wide variety of materials, including trash, and continues to modify these materials into modules. Known in his earlier career for Abstract sculptures and relief works, Konrad explains his artistic progression as a steady continuation and development of his sculptural transformations of architecture. He refers to this theory as “explosions of architecture.” His work has been the subject of solo exhibitions at Galerie Mark Müller in Zürich, Galerie Schmela in Düsseldorf, Galerie Kapinos in Berlin, Galerie Rehbein in Cologne, and Galerie Arndt & Partner in Berlin. Konrad currently lives and works in Berlin.
