June Wayne Biography
1918   Born in Chicago, Illinois. Raised by her divorced mother a traveling corset saleswoman.
1933   Dropped out of high school to become an artist
1935   First solo exhibit using her first and middle names: June Claire
1938   WPA Easel Project in Chicago
1939   moved to New York and worked as a costume jewelry designer in the garment industry
1957   Collaborating with Marcel Durassier in Paris
1960   Early in the 60's she developed a plan to revitalize the art of lithography, producing the Tamarind Lithography Workshop. By the end of the 60's the workshop become an international force in the printmaking arts.
1970   Turned to designing tapestries in France.
2008   Women’s Art: Women’s Vision Honoree, National Women's History Project
