1920   Participated in Dadaist manifestations
1926   Diaghilev commissioned Miró and Ernst to design the sets and costumes for the ballet Romeo and Juliet to be performed by the Ballets Russes
1933   Publication of Enfances by Georges Hugnet, the first book illustrated by Miró with etchings
1936 - 1940   Lived with his wife and daughter in Paris, France
1947   First trip to the United States, where he produces a mural painting for the Gourmet Room at the Terrace Plaza Hotel in Cincinnati, OH
1958   Recipient, Guggenheim International Award for two murals for UNESCO in Paris, France
1980   Recipient, Gold Medal for Fine Arts awarded by King Juan Carlos
1983   Died in Palma, Majorca
