1886   Born: Roxbury, PA
1906 - 1910   Scholarship, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, Philadelphia, PA (studied with William Merritt Chase)
1919   Torr met Arthur Dove in Connecticit
1924   Torr and Dove moved together to Halesite, NY
1923 - 1929   Lived with Arthur Dove in a Houseboat on the Harlem River, NY
1933 - 1938   Relocated with Dove to Centerport, Long Island, NY
1938   Torr and Dove moved back to Long Island, purchased a cottage in Centerport
1946   Arthur Dove dies, Torr lives alone in the Centerport cottage
1967   Died: Bayshore, Long Island, NY
1998   The Dove/Torr cottage was purchased by the Heckscher Museum of Art with the assistance of a New York State Historic Preservation grant
