1867   Born on August 13th in Williamsport, PA
1883   Moved to Philadelphia, PA
1884   Enrolled in the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts
1885   Traveled to Europe where he studied at the Dusseldorf Academy in Germany and later painted in Paris and London
1895   Luks returned to Pennsylvania and started his career as a newspaper artist/illustrator for the Philadelphia Press
1896   Evening Bulletin sent Luks to Cuba as a war correspondent for the Spanish American War
1896 - 1897   Luks moved to New York and began his art career there as the premier humorist artist for the New York World
1902   Became a painter and art teacher
1933   Died on October 29 in New York, NY
1913   Participated in the Armory show
1908   Exhibited as a member of “The Eight” (Robert Henri, George Luks, William Glackens, John Sloan, Everett Shinn, Arthur B. Davies, Ernest Lawson, and Maurice Prendergast), Macbeth Gallery
