1886   Born to German immigrant parents in Pennsgrove, NJ
1888   The Hennings family relocated to Chicago and Martin spent much of his youth there, eventually studying at the Art Institute of Chicago.
1912   Studied at the Royal Academy in Munich, Germany for over two years before the onset of World War I, at which time he was forced to return home.
1924   Moved to Taos permanently
1956   Died in Taos, NM
