1892   Born: La Plata, Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina
1908   enrolled in La Plata Provincial Academy of Fine Arts, Argentina
1913   the government of Buenos Aires awarded Pettoruti a grant to study in Italy, where he interacted with Europe's avant-garde artists and became involved with the growing Futurist movement
studied at Academia de Bella Artes, Florence, Italy
1927 - 1932   ran the Museo Provincial de Bellas Artes in La Plata
1956   received the Guggenheim Continent of the Americas Prize
1967   the Grand Prix awarded by the Fondo Nacional de las Artes
1966   he travelled to Argentina and concluded his memoirs, published under the title Un pintor ante el espejo.
1960   , he took part in the Primera Exposiciòn Internacional de Arte Moderno held at the Museo de Arte Moderno in Buenos Aires and also in Construction and Geometry in Painting
exhibition held in New York.
1959   onwards, he participated in the Salon des Réalités Nouvelles
1957   exhibited in Abstract Art, First Generations 1910-1939, at the Musée d'Art of Saint Etienne
1954   exhibited at Durand-Ruel Gallery, Paris
1953   exhibited at San Marco, Rome (1953) art galleries
1952   exhibited at Il Milione, Milan
