1931 - 1933   Chemistry and Physics, Sorbonne, Paris
1936 - 1938   Chim photographed the Spanish Civil War
1942 - 1945   Served in the US Army, winning a medal for his work in intelligence
1947   Founded Magnum Photos along with Cartier-Bresson, Capa, George Rodger, and William Vandivert
1956   10 November he was killed by Egyptian machine-gun fire while traveling near the Suez Canal to cover a prisoner exchange
