Corneille Biography
1922   Born: in Liège, Belgium
1940   Emigrated to the Netherlands, subsequently naturalized
1940 - 1943   Studied drawing at the Amsterdam Rijksakademie, but taught himself how to paint. While at the academy he became a close friend of Karel Appel
1948   Co-founded the REFLEX movement
Co-founded the CoBra or Cobra Group
1950   Moved to Paris, France
1953   Studied etching under S.W. Hayter at Atelier 17, Paris, France
1954 - 1955   Studied Ceramics with Mazzotti at Albisola Mare, Italy
1956   Awarded the Guggenheim Netherlands Prize
1961 - 1966   Worked in Mallorca and Cadaques, Spain
  Lives and works in Paris, France
