1904   Born in London.
1927   Became regular photographer for Vogue Magazine.
1931   Shot for the British edition of Vogue Magazine.
1972   He was Knighted.
1974   Suffered a stroke that would leave him permanently paralysed on the right side of his body.
1980   Died at Reddish House, his home in Broad Chalke in Wiltshire, at the age of 76.
