Antonina F. Sofronova Biography
1892   Born in the village of Droskovo in Orlov province in 1892.
1910 - 1917   Sofronova studied in Moscow at the art school of F.I. Rerberg and the studio of I.I. Mashkov.
1920 - 1921   Sofronova was employed as a teacher at the State Free Art Studios in Tver, at the same time as Mikhail Sokolov teaching stint there.
1922   In 1922 she returned to Moscow and embarked on a large series of Contructivist drawings executed in various media.
1966   Died in Moscow in 1966.
Selected Exhibitions
2004 - 2005   Colour and Light in the Russian Avant-Garde: The Costakis Collection, State Museum of Contemporary Art Thessaloniki, Greece, toured to Berlin and Austria.
1991   Vision of Space - Galerie Gmurzynska - Köln, Colonia
1931   The artists from group “13” were very close to Sofronova’s work, so she was invited to participate in their 3rd exhibition in 1931.
1914 - 1918   In 1914, she participated in the “Jack of Diamonds” and later at the “Moscow Association of Artists” exhibitions
1917   In 1917, Sofronova contributed to the Mir Iskusstva (World of Art) Exhibition in Moscow.
