Ahmet Fazil Aksoy Biography

|
Ahmet Fazýl Aksoy was born in 1949 in Samsun. After finishing Persembe Teacher´s School and 19 Mayis Lycee, he graduated from Istanbul University, Faculty of Law. After performing his profession of law for a short time, he turned totally towards painting. The artist continues his artistic works for more than 20 years. His painting love started when he was a child. He draw so many paintings even he was in elementary school. After graduating from high school as a honour student, he entered to faculty of law. In these period, he spent most of his time by drawing paintings. The advices of Burhan Uygur and Cihan Burak contributed a positive effect on his paintings.

The artists ` interest on the picturesque atmosphere of Ýstanbul motivate him to draw paintings of historical places like Emirgan, Maiden Tower, Haliç, Sarýyer, Üsküdar, Kandilli, Anadolu, Rumeli Kavaðý, Çubuklu and Galata. He reflects the beauties of these places to his canvas. The artists technique of combining impressionism with his own painting view is highly appreciated.

Ahmet Fazýl Aksoy has participated to group and solo exhibitions both nationally and internationally. He has so many artistic works in different countries, especially in England. His paintings can be found in the collections of various Banks in Turkey. The artist is a lover of Istanbul and believes that Istanbul is the world´s most beautiful and picturesque city. He continues his work at his workshop in Istanbul.
