Among the many books he has illustrated, there are several by Gabriel García Márquez. He has been part of the jury in national and international fine arts contests, and his work has been recognized by the State Council of the Republic of Cuba, who granted him the Medal for National Culture and the Alejo Carpentier medal. He’s a member of the Unión Nacional de Escritores y Artistas de Cuba (National Union of Cuban Writers and Artists) (UNEAC) and the Asociación Internacional de Artistas Plásticos (International Association of Fine Arts Artists) (AIAP).
