Charles Matton, 69, whose work is well known in Europe, has had exhibitions in Paris, Venice, and Tokyo. His work is in the collection of such museums as National Museum of Art of Kyoto and Tokyo and the Centre d’Arte Contemporain de Frejus, Paris. His boxes were a highlight at FIAC 2000 in Paris, where crowds hovered over his small worlds examining every tiny detail. The artists’ boxes are the subject of a book, Charles Matton published in 1991 in France.
