The painting is Illustrated in Sven Berlin’s book on Alfred Wallis. Sven Berlin was a sculptor, painter and writer and was a forceful and controversial figure among the artists of St Ives in the 1940s and 1950s. Berlin gave this painting to Adrian Ryan, a painter and teacher at the Slade School of Fine Art.
