| Dr. Jrgen Gaulke appointed new member New York/Frankfurt, August 15, 2000 Following the proposal of the Management Board, the District Court of Hamburg has appointed Dr. Jrgen Gaulke as a member of the Supervisory Board of artnet AG to succeed Dr. Alexander Nill, who has resigned due to other commitments related to his family enterprise. The Supervisory Board plans to name John D. Hushon, a current member of artnet's Supervisory Board and President of El Paso Energy International, Houston,Texas, to succeed Dr. Nill as Chairman of the Supervisory Board. Klaus-Jochen Schaeffer continues as Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board. Dr. Jrgen Gaulke, 36, is a management consultant based in Hamburg who provides counsel to IPO candidates and listed companies in financial communications and investor relations. He acted as a consultant for the IPOs of Intershop, ConSors, Senator Film, tecis, burer, Softline, Rational and TV-Loonland in particular. Following his university studies in Cologne, France and the United States, and the completion of his doctorate at the University of Cologne, he worked for five years as a financial correspondent for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and manager magazin. Dr. Gaulke is the author of several books on financial and business subjects. He is a member of the Advisory Board of tecis Holding AG.
