  Assistant Managing Editor

artnet is looking for a New York-based assistant managing editor for artnet News, its new global art and market news platform to be launched in early 2014.

This position works closely with the Editor-in-Chief of artnet News, with day to day responsibility for keeping and tracking the story schedule, managing daily newsletters, coordinating with social media team, refreshing the homepage and planning future editorial packages and special publishing initiatives. Extensive experience with an online publishing CMS is essential, with some knowledge of the art world and art publishing industry preferred. Excellent, proven time management and organizational skills are an absolute prerequisite. Salary negotiable.

  Senior Account Executive

Responsibilities:
The Senior Account Executive will sell artnet products and services throughout the Fine Arts market. This person will be responsible for identifying and closing new business, meeting a monthly sales quota and managing an existing account base. The Senior Account Executive will gain knowledge of prospective and existing clients' business goals and sell artnet as a solution to achieve those goals. This person will work closely with a Client Services team member to ensure efficient account set-up and maintenance.

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • 4 year college degree
  • Strategic sales approach with a focus on building relationships with top tier clients
  • Proven ability to perform in a highly competitive market
  • Minimum of 4 years experience meeting or exceeding sales quotas
  • An extensive background in fine arts and the business aspects of a gallery
  • Must be customer focused and demonstrate solid communications, networking and negotiating skills
  • German language a plus

  artnet Client Services Representative

Job Description:
artnet is seeking a full-time client services representative with art world experience to build and maintain artnet Galleries sites promptly and efficiently. He or she will speak with clients daily to keep them engaged and promote the use of various artnet products. The client services representative reports directly to the manager of client services, and is responsible for approximately 140 gallery clients.

The client services representative will also work with the collections, finance, and sales teams on a daily basis to update client billing and account information.

Tasks Required:
  • Build and maintain artnet Galleries websites for participating member galleries
  • Form relationships with clients to keep them engaged and proactive with the product
  • Identify client sales opportunities in order to promote the use of various artnet products
  • Track all significant client contact on a daily basis
  • Edit the artist database by adding or updating artist biographies
  • Use Photoshop to design client advertisements and edit images
  • Help improve our product and services by contributing ideas regularly
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Art History, Fine Arts, or Arts Administration
  • Proficient knowledge of PC platform, Microsoft Office, and Photoshop
  • Ability to multi-task and self-motivate with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to adapt to new tasks and take on new responsibilities as needed
  • Professional and pleasant phone and email etiquette
  • Excellent command of the English language
  • Writing, editing, and proof-reading abilities
  • Experience working in a gallery or museum a plus

  artnet Galleries Internship

Responsibilities:
This internship is the perfect opportunity to get involved in marketing and the arts community at the entry level. The artnet Galleries Intern reports to the Manager of Client Services and will be responsible for researching and contacting galleries in the United States and internationally, entering new gallery data into artnet’s extensive directory, while also simultaneously serving as a liaison between potential leads and our Sales team.

You will also assist our artnet Galleries production team, posting artworks and exhibitions to gallery sites and ensuring that our artist database is kept current. Basic knowledge of art history and an interest in art are recommended.

Flexible schedule available, with a 3 to 4 month time commitment required. The internship is unpaid, but we will provide you with a small daily stipend to cover transportation and lunch expenses. Interns may also arrange with their college to receive course credit.

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Current college student, or recent graduate
  • Background in marketing, art or art history
  • Foreign Language skills are ideal
  • Proficient PC knowledge
