Responsibilities:

  artnet Galleries

  artnet Galleries Internship

Responsibilities:
This internship is the perfect opportunity to get involved in marketing and the arts community at the entry level. The artnet Galleries Intern reports to the Manager of Client Services and will be responsible for researching and contacting galleries in the United States and internationally, entering new gallery data into artnet’s extensive directory, while also simultaneously serving as a liaison between potential leads and our Sales team.

You will also assist our artnet Galleries production team, posting artworks and exhibitions to gallery sites and ensuring that our artist database is kept current. Basic knowledge of art history and an interest in art are recommended.

Flexible schedule available, with a 3 to 4 month time commitment required. The internship is unpaid, but we will provide you with a small daily stipend to cover transportation and lunch expenses. Interns may also arrange with their college to receive course credit.

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Current college student, or recent graduate
  • Background in marketing, art or art history
  • Foreign Language skills are ideal
  • Proficient PC knowledge

  Systems Administrator

Job Description:
The System Administrator (SA) is responsible for the effective provisioning, installation/ configuration, operation, and maintenance of the entire artnet infrastructure, including the disaster recovery site and remote offices. The candidate will also be involved in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. The candidate must be able to maintain security for confidential information regarding company matters such as personnel, finances, electronic communications, electronic files, and security systems. Other duties may include powershell scripting or light programming, and project management for strategic initiatives. The position requires being on-call, and working during weekends and late nights periodically or during any outages.

Tasks Required:
  • Monitor and administer the server infrastructure to ensure a 99% reliability rate for production environment and all IT services worldwide
  • Work with the network administrator to provide basic network support and network services, such as DHCP or network authentication.
  • Act as the secondary resource for the installation and maintenance of network systems
  • Work with the software release manager and administrators to support final QA, production, and failover site releases
  • Help software developers and the quality assurance team analyze programming issues. Apply bug fixes to the live product, and to the office infrastructure as requested
  • Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot Shoretel VOIP phone system
  • Maintain backups of server and network appliance configurations and data
  • Apply updates and configuration changes to servers and appliances
  • Install and configure new hardware and software
  • Manage Active Directory, DNS, etc
  • Maintain systems security
  • Monitor system logs and activity on all servers and devices
  • Provide reports on network performance, security, and reliability
  • Research and test new hardware and software
  • Provide Level 2 and 3 desktop and server support services
  • Maintain documentation for servers, network, and customer support

Qualifications:

It is essential that the candidate possesses experience with supporting the infrastructure of Internet-based applications in a youthful, mid-size, corporate environment.

The candidate must possess the following:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5–7 years of systems administrator experience in a virtualized corporate environment installing, supporting, and maintaining VMWare 4/5 and Windows 2003/2008 environments
  • Expertise with the following technologies: Clustering, Exchange 2010, IIS, SQL Server 2005/2008, printer and file servers, SAN/NAS/TAPE storage and backup solutions, antivirus systems, wireless access points, and remote computing environments such as RDP, Terminal Services, and Citrix 6
  • Strong working knowledge of the best practice standards and guidelines, such as ITIL, COBIT, and PCI
  • Experience with IP-based telephony systems
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Must be detail-oriented with strong organization skills
  • Must be able to work at least 40 hours per week, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and on-call duties
  • Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 70 lbs
  • Experience with building datacenters, wiring, and racking a plus
  • Experience with systems management solutions a plus
