What's in a name?
I wish I knew the difference
Between your name and you --
A 32-year-old guy named Erik
Delivers up his Panegyric.
Stuffed Intestinally,
His Monikers
Quickly drive the viewer
Bonkers!
Stuffs you 'til you get the gout
Then like a Buddhist
Vomit it out,
Only to fill you up again
With signifying anti-Zen
Indulgences and chants
And ferrets stuffed in Erik's pants.
How many people do you know
Whose names are featured in the show?
Personally? By reputation?
Some names are known across the nation,
Some not even by me and you
(I'm in there, maybe you are too!)
Take equal parts
Ray Johnson, Jess,
Philip Guston, Eva Hesse,
Fillmore posters,
Peter Saul,
Erik Parker blends them all
Into a hip-hop hieroglyphic.
He's young and colorful,
Quite prolific --
The show at Koenig's all sold out,
But everyone can still hold out
Hope that Erik will pick your name,
Bestow a particle of fame --
Now he's there, now he's gone,
His finger writes
And we move on.

Erik Parker, Oct. 28-Dec. 2, 200, at Leo Koenig, 359 Broadway, New York, N.Y. 10013
