Quirk and Color: John Kimball at Moss Gallery
by Daniel Kany
Maine Sunday Telegram, Sunday, September 13, 2009
Each of Kimball's works stands on its own as unique and well-conceived. Some are dreamier, while others have an edge.
At a glance, Kimball's paintings could be the work of a naive artist- outsider art. But Kimball has been in the arts for a very long time as a painter, a trustee of the Maine College of Art, vice chair of the maine Arts Commision and so on.
His work is very smart, and he has a sense of humor to go with his patient and experienced eye.
