1876 Born in Herdorf Am Sieg, Germany
1904 By this time had opened his own studio in Linz, Austria
1909 Moved to a suburb in Cologne and began to photograph the nearby rural farmers
1934 Work turns increasingly to nature and architectural studies
1964 Died
